Plow Information technology On Once more: The Hits is a greatest hits album by British progressive stone/pop-rock ring Genesis. The album was originally released as a single anthology on 26 October 1999[1] by Virgin Records in the UK and by Atlantic Records in the US.
In 2007, an expanded ii-disc edition, subtitled The Tour Edition, was released to promote the Turn Information technology on Once more reunion tour. All of the tracks, except for "The Carpet Crawlers 1999," were remixed by Nick Davis. In addition, the album features more songs from every album in the band'southward catalogue (minus the alive albums, Foxtrot and From Genesis to Revelation). Too the ii-CD version, a 2-CD + 2-DVD version was issued, which included The Video Show DVD and When in Rome DVD.
Album profile [edit]
All tracks feature the long-lasting Banks-Collins-Rutherford lineup of Genesis, with the exception of "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)" and "The Carpet Crawlers 1999", which characteristic the Banks-Collins-Gabriel-Hackett-Rutherford lineup, and "Congo", which features the Banks-Rutherford-Wilson lineup.
Upon its release, Turn It On Over again: The Hits reached No. iv on the UK Albums Chart and No. 65 on the United states of america Billboard 200, where information technology achieved gold tape status.
In 2007, the compilation was re-released every bit a two-CD set with bonus tracks for the new tour of the group, this fourth dimension including several songs from the Gabriel-era band, as well as the transitory Banks-Collins-Hackett-Rutheford lineup. The project was once again successful, re-entering the UK charts at No. 14 and the post-obit week climbing to No. five. The two-disc version was released in the US on 11 September replacing The Platinum Collection.
The 7 letters of the Genesis logo on the cover are parts of the different anthology cover logos over the years. They are as follows:
- The "G" from ...And So There Were 3...
- The first "E" from the second "Eastward" on We Can't Dance (the commencement "E" on that anthology's cover was reversed)
- The "N" from Calling All Stations (with a unlike colour scheme; this was reverted on the 2007 re-issue)
- The 2d "Due east" from The Lamb Lies Downwards on Broadway
- The first "Due south" from Duke
- The "I" from Genesis
- The second "S" from Invisible Touch
The band'due south official website has taken to using a like format for its homepage; when the mouse is moved over each letter, the picture changes.
